SideStix
SideStix: The First Sports Crutch
SideStix™ is the first shock absorbent sports crutch with attachable ‘feet’ for a variety of terrains. It has been designed by Sarah Doherty, Occupational Therapist and Kerith Perreur-Lloyd, Structural Technologist.
SideStix promotes healthy, active, adventurous exploration of the world around us by providing joint protection and crutch tips to suit all conditions, from neighbourhood streets to snow covered mountains.
Evolution to Revolution
Over the last seven years we have carried out research and development for a new shock absorbent crutch system with attachable feet.
We have recently completed a small batch production run at Foreman CNC in Victoria.
Testing at Bloorview Kids Rehab in Toronto has indicated a 40% reduction in joint compression.
This Patent Pending design can be modified to any tubular system including walking sticks, canes, walkers, etc.
