Testimonials

“My family and I are so grateful to you and your product. It has given my father so much more independence and peace of mind as he was so worried (not to mention our family) about falling with his canes. In addition, we noticed a change with his energy level and his stature as he is now walking more upright.”

-Carolyn Hackett(Father with Post Polio)

“Sarah! I love my SideStix. I cant say thank you enough. Such a great piece of equipment, really thought out. I use them as my everyday crutch because they are so comfortable. I never noticed the strain my other crutches put on my shoulders and forearms until steadily using SideStix. Thanks. These have allowed me to continue to stay active in periods where mobility seemed incapable.”

-Mark Priest (Spinal Cord Injury)

“The shock feature on the SideStix makes ALL the difference! Such a simple innovation conceptually yet a master stroke of genius!”

Thanks & take care,
-Anne Nelson (Nerve Damage)

“Hi Sarah, Just wanted to tell you that I placed 3rd at the World Championships last weekend.  Once I have time to download pics from my camera, I will send them along.  My Stix worked great and I can’t thank you enough for your invention.”

- Captain Kim Fawcett (Amputee)

“I am marvelling over the joint of the SideStix foot. I come from the incomplete paraplegic world so I really haven’t had exposure to artificial limbs. I am enjoying allowing my shoulder joint to internally or externally rotate to its favoured position.”

-Jon Arnow (Incomplete Paraplegic)

“Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love the crutches!  My old ones pale in comparison:
1) I love the cuffs – they are super comfortable and secure and don’t flex like my last ones did.
2)The shock unit definitely seems to reduce joint stress.
3) The swivel function reduces wear of the tips a lot – I am still on my first pair (with little wear) which is quite unusual for me. The ankle action seems nice on uneven ground.
4) Overall they are very stable and well designed!”

-Sarah Billmeier (Amputee)

“Hello to you both from Africa,
I just wanted to quickly let you know that Mark and I reached Uhuru Point in the early hours of 16th Sept so another pair of Sidestix has made it to the roof of Africa!
I’d also like to say how well the sticks worked and how much they were admired. I had no mechanical problems whatsoever. I’ll send you a picture of my crutch tips and foot assembly which look like they’ve done some hard work! I had complete confidence of grip regardless of surface, the only difficult bit was the scree slope up to Stella Point although everyone was having the same issues there!

I cannot thank you enough for helping me achieve this. I will always be grateful.”

-Helen Stidwell (Neurological Disorder)

“SideStix are easy to assemble – light – and oh yes, very nice looking. All the attachments are very practical. The first thing I notices was just how quiet they (SideStix) are! No rattling or clunking.  The cuff – I loved it right away. The rotation on the tip end and its ability to angulate is another feature that I noticed immediately.  Congratulations on such an amazing design.”

-Lynda Chyzyk (Amputee)

“Well…. some initial feedback:  The crutches are everything I expected and more.  They have naturally become an extension of my body and are very comfortable to use.  The handles initially took quite some adapting to as I am used to handles which carry the weight across the centre of my palm, so from that aspect it was like getting used to a new pair of shoes.  However, it was well worth the perseverance, as having the weight spread across a wider area is much more natural and has already begun to reduce some of the hand pain.  Also, I am having a little less numbness & pins and needles down my arm, which seems to have been related to shoulder damage from long-term crutch use.  Therefore, it’s a completely positive experience, so I can only thank you for your dedication in developing these crutches, along with taking time to demonstrate them and provide a generous discount.  Already, they are transforming my life.”

-Andrew Ford (Neurological Disorder)

“We did two days of moving around Easter Island visiting all the sites including damp caves and at the edges of volcanoes. The SideStix didn’t let me down once. A lot of time we were on dangerous gravel paths and with the British hard rubber ring type tips, the gravel can roll like ball bearings! Your tips didn’t do that once!  Wet shiny floors around the swimming pool are no problem. My normal crutches would have skidded but my SideStix stuck solid. We should be down to Antarctica by Wednesday and start doing landings which will be a good workout for me and my SideStix.”

- Keith Robinson (Neurological Disorder)

“The SideStix are awesome!  I went for a short hike with Mom and had so much fun! The studded tips made a huge difference.  I am looking forward to using SideStix everyday.”

- Sam Riesco (Spina Bifida)

“The SideStix are a very comfortable pair of crutches for Nicolai and really help with the wrist, palm and forearm discomfort he experiences with other crutches. Please do not underestimate the value of this statement. For everyday use and long distance hiking or climbing, the SideStix will be his first choice among his current crutch options.”

- Carl Calabria (Father of Nico Calabria, Congenital Amputee)

“Thank you so much guys! I’m really torn between which I love more… your customer service or the product. I’d go with both!”

-Vlad Bognadov (Amputee)

“I assembled the Sidestix…Wow! These are the Lexus of crutches. I have never seen anything of this quality before. Precision adjustment, comfortable handles…  I just love walking on them!”

-Bonnie St. John (Amputee)

“Dear Sarah and Kerith:
My children gave to me a pair of your SideStix for Father’s Day. What a treat! The kids were focused upon your “sand shoe deck” feature so that I could walk the beach adjoining our Camano Island cabin. However, more importantly, I congratulate you for your handle design, one that addresses the carpal tunnel syndrome problem that attends the “standard issue” for the Guardian walker and Drive International crutches and my use of them because of my left leg amputation. With my Drive crutches and Guardian walker, I have had to build up the handles with foam padding, that worked well until they lost cushioning through compression with use. Your handles appear to have solved the problem.

Keep up the good work.”

-Charley Bush (Amputee)

“I tried my new SideStix out on 4 types of wet tiled floor yesterday, including stairs, and I can’t even believe how stable they are. I may never fall again. Obvious increase in comfort as well, every step is easier. Thank you for creating something that will make my life a bit easier!”
